Linda Dreiling

Hello! I love my family (Brian, Jacob, and Julianne) and am so excited to move from 50 hrs. a week at Starbucks to 20. I’ll have lots of free time. Well, not really, because I’m getting an English degree, helping Brian with his business, writing, volunteering at the kids’ school, and—finally—homemaking!!!

Things I enjoy:
writing, reading, art, pens, kiddos, words, guacamole, fishing, movies, baking, Apple products, recumbent bike, margaritas, sudoku, tennis, cake decorating, music, Scrabble, hockey, bookstores, pedicures, and many other things

    Hi Linda,

I’m so excited to see you here!!! Your kids are cute… what are their ages? I have four little girls! 6,5,3 and 15 mo. I’m in MS with my husband who is a pastor. I’d love to hear more about what’s going on with you. Also, how’s Jenny?

Welcome to blogger world. Thanks for the invite!

Hey Linda! I love this….I could be here for hours! I’m so happy you’ll be home more. Be careful!!! From experience, with this new found freedom comes over-committment. Don’t start saying yes to everything because “now you have the time”. Remember your goals and purpose to stick to them and just love those babies!!! Take it from me, the Queen of Over-Committ! Love you!!

One other thing….I was going to add that I love Scrabble too. And I’m sure you would have laughed to no end….becuase of all the mis-spelled words!! Ugh! Commit only have one ‘t’, and wouldn’t you know I spelt it wrong like 60 times!! ;0

    Hi Linda!!

This is so great! I have been a myspacer (with all of the 20 year olds!) but this is SO much better! What a great way to keep in touch with people.

I am so happy for you and your family that you’ve decided to step DOWN the corporate ladder!! You are an AMAZING barista!! And you are going to have such a lower level of stress in that area of your life now.

Of course, as Katie cautioned, be mindful of overcommitment! That’s my game… :-)

    I miss you! Love Amy

    Hi Linda!

I never realized that you also had a blog, and I could get to it from Kelly’s, and, wow, it’s so nice to have a lovely surprise like that! You girls have all grown up, and I am so proud of you all. I think of you so often. I love your blog, and it is lovely to catch up on what you’re up to. Your kids are beautiful, and both of them look like you, in different ways. Much love! Laura

I have to admit to feeling a little like an eavesdropper, but if you don’t mind sharing with an old woman, whose brain refuses to its as old as the body, well, I’ll be back from time to time. I’d also like to share with you, my blog: just a wee bit over a week old. Meander With Me

Where are you getting your English degree? I moved my work hours from 40 to 24 and am taking English classes to add to my journalism repetoire. It’s busier than ever and I don’t even have kids! Someday I’d like to work at Starbucks because I think it would be fun. :-)
